  • Donate to Trash and Treasure

Are you contemplating–and dreading–holding a garage sale? Consider skipping the entire thing and taking your gently-used items to the McMinn County Living Heritage Museum for our Annual Trash and Treasure Sale. Not only will your donation be helping those in need, you’ll be padding your pocketbook as well. People donating to the McMinn County Living Heritage Museum Trash and Treasure Sale can receive a tax-credit receipt upon request.

For many, many years in the spring, the Annual Trash and Treasure Sale--hosted by the McMinn County Living Heritage Museum and organized by the Museum Guild--has been the museum's important fund-raiser. And while the sale is in the spring, the Guild is always looking for your gently used, quality items to donate to this good cause. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Museum Guild, and all proceeds are donated to fund the operating costs of the Living Heritage Museum and help the Museum reach over 22,000 visitors annually, including several thousand area school children, with our programs and exhibits.

Those with items to donate should email or call the Museum at 423-745-0329 to arrange a pick-up for large items or drop-off.

    Donations That We Do Accept:
Sporting goods, home goods, media (books, CD’s DVD’s, tapes), electronics,  accessories (jewelry, purses, scarves), toys and games, furniture, and lawn and garden items
